Dear IBADCC Members,
We are glad to share the news of Medicaid officially amending its administrative rules in IDAPA 16.03.09, Medicaid Basic Plan Benefits, allowing grants of variances to providers.
IBADCC is proud to be involved in this change of policy and has provided professional advice and advocacy for such changes.
Accepting background check waivers increases access to Peer Support and Recovery Coaching services for Medicaid members. This allows more mentors to share their training, experience and knowledge, while inspiring empowerment, fostering self-determination.
We would like to thank Optum of Idaho and Medicaid for all their work.
This is a great example of partnerships working together and improving the quality of SUD services.
